James Franco has always had a thing for art that dissects and plays around with his own celebrity, so why not add one additional meta layer onto that? At a Toronto gathering to promote his latest installation, Franco interrupted the proceedings to gesture at Macy Armstrong, a 13-year-old fan clad in a T-shirt with Franco’s face on it. As it happens, Armstrong maintains a Tumblr called James Franco Forever, and she’d shown up at the event with a portrait of the actor made out of yarn, in addition to two other Franco-inspired art pieces. “I wanna buy those,” Franco announced, and it was done; Armstrong later took to her Tumblr to celebrate the purchase. “Ohmygod I don’t know what just happened but I can’t breath!” she wrote. “He looked at me, he spoke to me, and I’m pretty sure we mentally got married!” [CTV, Tumblr]
